AIP-16: Community Vote — Select the Next Priority Proposal for Implementation
Summary
To focus collective energy and resources efficiently, this proposal asks the community to vote on which of the following seven proposals should be prioritized as the next major DAO initiative. Each proposal represents a different but important direction for AssangeDAO’s growth and mission advancement. This vote is non-binding but will serve as a clear mandate for GTU, developers, and contributors on where to begin work immediately.
Proposal Options
Community members are invited to vote on one of the following seven proposals as their top priority:
- Proposal 1: Request for the Return of 3,681.59 ETH from Wau Holland Foundation
- Seek the return of remaining treasury funds held by WHF to AssangeDAO.
- Proposal 2: Launch the Assange Pardon Petition Chain
- A verifiable on-chain signature campaign powered by $JUSTICE, aimed at global mobilization for Assange’s pardon.
- Proposal 3: Ignite the Flame of Truth — The Second Mission of AssangeDAO
- A broad mission reset, rebranding AssangeDAO as a long-term freedom tech & justice advocacy network.
- Proposal 4: Launch the Freedom Wall
- An on-chain public tribute space powered by $JUSTICE, where supporters can post messages honoring Julian’s freedom.
- Proposal 5: Launch the Justice Journal
- A decentralized logchain for individuals to publish timestamped freedom-related reflections, using $JUSTICE as gas and access token.
- Proposal 6: Multisig Signer Selection Framework and Charter Implementation
- Formalize and implement a rotating, accountable structure for managing DAO treasury signers.
- Proposal 7: Establishment of a Financial Budgeting and Audit Mechanism
- Create transparency tools and budgeting workflows for tracking DAO expenditures and financial planning.
Process & Timeline
Following a 3-day discussion period on the Forum, this proposal will proceed to a 2-day Snapshot vote with the following parameters:
- Quorum: 5% of total voting power
- Passing threshold: Simple majority
Technical & Implementation Plan
The winning proposal will proceed to full planning, budgeting, and implementation via contributor coordination. Other proposals will remain open for future prioritization.
Design
The vote will follow a ranked-choice style (single option selection) on Snapshot. The winning option will be considered the DAO’s immediate focus.
Attack Mitigation
This is a signaling proposal and does not involve treasury movement. Implementation steps will be subject to further detailed votes if required.
Alignment with Julian
All options align with the mission of defending press freedom and Julian Assange’s legacy through decentralized infrastructure and community action.
Communication & Moderation
This proposal will be shared across Discord, Telegram, Twitter/X, and the forum. Forum discussion will last 3 days prior to Snapshot voting.
