AIP-14: Addition of Two Proposers via Snapshot Vote
Summary
To improve AssangeDAO’s governance responsiveness and allow for more decentralized proposal creation, this proposal recommends appointing two new proposers from a group of trusted community contributors. The final selection will be made through a community-wide Snapshot vote.
Rationale
Currently, AssangeDAO’s governance process has been hindered by a lack of active proposers, restricting proposal publication and slowing down important community decisions. With the recent revitalization of forum-based governance (via AIP-12), it’s critical that we empower trusted contributors with proposer access to ensure open and regular proposal flow.
This proposal seeks to formally elect two new proposers via Snapshot from a shortlist of active contributors drawn from past GTU candidates and members. Their participation will improve governance continuity, distribute responsibility, and invite wider community engagement.
Responsibilities of Proposers
Post proposals on Snapshot that meet minimum formatting and community discussion criteria.
Provide guidance to other community members on proposal formatting and clarity.
Stay responsive in governance discussions on the forum and Discord.
Help maintain a transparent and effective governance process.
Term and Removal Conditions
Term: 2 years, renewable via re-election.
Voluntary Resignation: Proposer may step down with notice.
Removal by Community Vote (via Snapshot):
Prolonged inactivity (60+ days without cause)
Misconduct or violation of DAO principles
Behavior inconsistent with the mission and values of AssangeDAO
Nominees for Proposer Role
Community members will vote for two proposers from the following seven candidates:
Contribution History: Engaged in community publicity, worked on cohesion and reducing differences, provided significant liquidity (justiceeth LP in Uniswap).
I noticed that the proposer of this proposal, which is legal for the community vote, has not updated it yet. What is the reason? It is almost been two weeks. @Logan@bz404@zylo_eth@Gabriel@SilkeNoa Please implement the legality resolutions authorized by the community!
Hi everyone, BZ started the transaction to add the 2 proposers and me and Silke both signed but Snapshot did not register the transaction.
Long story short, we have to enable ‘on-chain’ signature’s only option in safe and try it again. Silke had mentioned this in the past, and I forgot about this, so sorry Silke and thank you for your expertise in this!
Thanks for your patience. Our snapshot is the older version, so will be good to try to move to something like Tally or Snapshot X in the future.
We have resolved the issue with our snapshot and the Proposers (Authors) have been updated.
Thank you everyone!
Edit:
Long Story short, we tried adding the new proposers (authors) multiple times and everyone signed (Me, Bz, Silke) but it wasn’t working, we had to work with Snapshot support to find the issue, the issue was that our Snapshot* settings were incorrect because the erc20-balance-of-delegation voting strategy is no longer available in Snapshot* for Free users.
So we had to remove erc20-balance-of-delegation voting strategy which wasn’t working anyways, but our main strategy erc20-balance-of is still in place.
If we want people to be able to delegate using snapshot for voting we will have to upgrade our snapshot to a paid version.
