Elon Musk proposed as Assange Award candidate

Elon Musk bought Twitter for free speech. Therefore, it is necessary to nominate his candidate for the Assange Award to recognize his outstanding contribution to freedom of speech and justice.

It’s really a good idea, but we don’t know whether our current scale and energy can attract his attention

Elon Musk bought Twitter for free speech. Therefore, it is necessary to nominate him as candidate for the Assange Award to recognize his outstanding contribution to freedom of speech and justice.

Nominees must fulfil certain criteria: Someone who has contributed true knowledge/information to society that is of public interest. Someone who has experienced hardship or persecution due to their contribution to society.

Also, do you really believe that Musk bought Twitter because of free speech? Or justice?!? Common

We can’t turn this Award into a meme or a joke! It’s a serious initiative with a very specific agenda!

Is he not even qualified to be nominated? We can discuss, but he should be given a chance to nominate. Maybe we shouldn’t strip him of his nomination.

I think the current problem is the gold content of our award. The nominations can indeed be some famous people. Maybe the gold content will be higher. We may be the Nobel Prize for press and freedom of speech

He doesn’t really fit the criteria for being nominated.

He didn’t do absolutely anything in that matter besides using freedom of speech as a bait to control Twitter. So why he should be nominated? Because of what exactly?

Also don’t really see an AssangeAward to Musk, I can see it as a ridiculous marketing stunt but it simple doesn’t make any sense. Thats not the idea behind the Award and we need to be taken serious and not as a meme

If we have a land of meta universe, we can also do an Assange meta universe award. Ha ha, of course, this is a wild idea

Folks. Better research who Elon Musk is and what he actually did, before you suggest him as a nominee. ^^

Just being an american rich business guy, that cooperated with the military (etc.), claming that he bought twitter for free speech, doesn’t mean that he said the truth.

Dozens of people urged him to support Julian and he kept quiet like a mouse. Somebody can buy google and than say, data protection was the intention, but just because somebody says it, doesn’t mean it’s trustworthy. ^^

Some community members suggested that he is eligible for nomination, and we should respect this right. But whether he qualifies for the award depends on what he does. If he really does not qualify for this award, we can vote against him.

If he can publicly support Mr. Assange on twitter, he may consider nominating. Brothers may think about how to make the first Assange award more famous and gold! In my mind, this award should be the same as the Nobel Prize. The Assange prize belongs to the Nobel Prize for freedom of speech and journalism

We can reach out to Allen to publicly support Julian on Twitter, and if he does, I’ll vote for him. If he doesn’t, I absolutely vote against him for this award.

What we should consider is how to make the Assange award more famous and influential

How about nominating vitalik? He is well-known, and he took the lead in donating money to Assange Dao, and he also spoke for Assange on twitter

Here is the thread for the award by the way:

Eligible how? Again:

Nominees must fulfil certain criteria: Someone who has contributed true knowledge/information to society that is of public interest. Someone who has experienced hardship or persecution due to their contribution to society.

This is just a suggestion.

(I can discuss further)

(1) About social contribution

  1. In addition to buying Twitter, he endorsed Bitcoin and Dogecoin, which is a direct resistance to monopoly sovereign currencies, especially the hegemony of the US dollar.
  2. Support Ukrainian communication satellites and resist military power.

(2) On suffering and persecution

  1. He was fined a huge amount of compensation by the United States for directly calling out cryptocurrencies and was required to attend a hearing.
  2. During his entrepreneurial process, he was shorted by Wall Street financial giants many times and faced bankruptcy many times.

Before nominating Mr. Musk for this award, we should wait for him to restore and verify Julian Assange’s permanently banned Twitter account. That would signal that Elon at least knows who the man is for whom this award is named, and supports that man’s access to free speech on the most politically important social media platform.

Lefties keep seething about Elon Musk.

It is clear that Mr Musk “provides knowledge to society that is of the public interest”, being that his entire purpose of purchasing Twitter, was so that twitter stops censoring news organizations, specifically referring to the lab leak hypothesis and the Hunter Biden Laptop scandal.

He did so by willingly sacrificing billions of dollars of his own wealth.

There is nobody more suitable than Musk.

Does the Assange family have veto over this award? For example, if Musk is nominated but it turns out Julian doesn’t like him, presumably Elon would be disqualified. We could save a lot of effort by determining in advance which candidates could pass muster.
